The Tradeka Foundation promotes the development of expertise and public discussion related to economic issues and business activities, particularly among workers, employees and consumers.
In addition, the Tradeka Foundation supports social and public-benefit activities rooted in the tradition of the progressive cooperative movement. It also supports research, education, communications and publishing activities related to the foundation’s purpose, and maintains Cooperative Tradeka’s art collection.
The foundation’s affairs are managed by its Board of Directors in accordance with the law and the foundation’s rules. The members of the Board of Directors of the Tradeka Foundation are:

The Tradeka Foundation is a member of the Association of Finnish Foundations and follows good foundation practice.
Cooperative Tradeka’s art collection
Cooperative Tradeka has acquired visual art over the decades for its offices, shops, cafés and restaurants. Tradeka has inherited a diverse collection of Finnish art from across Finland, comprising nearly 600 works by more than 200 Finnish artists. In addition to oil paintings, the collection also includes sculptures and graphic art.
The cooperative takes a positive view of possible loan requests. Requests and enquiries can be sent to sanna.liusvaara[a]tradeka.fi.
In 2007, in honour of the group’s 90th anniversary, the book Kokoelma kotimaista taidetta, edited by Petja Hovinheimo, was published about the collection.
In 2015, Cooperative Tradeka began cooperating with the Finnish Museum of Photography to support Finnish photographic art. Under the cooperation agreement between the Tradeka Foundation and the Finnish Museum of Photography, the museum acquires works by young or emerging Finnish photographic artists for its collections with funding from Tradeka. The acquired photographs become part of the Tradeka Collection established at the museum. The museum is responsible for expanding the Tradeka Collection and for making the works acquired for the collection available to the public.
